Château Blanc
2023
Our Cuvée Château Red is a luscious wine, full of promise.
40% Syrah and 60% Grenache grapes (rootstock 110R). Stony clay and limestone soil. Western and southeastern exposure at an altitude of 200-230 metres.
After harvesting all our grapes by hand, the crop is taken to the stem separator via a conveyor belt, and then to our enamelled steel tanks where the berries begin to ferment. They undergo 15 to 20 days of temperature-controlled vatting, with each block vinified separately before being transferred to barrels to mature. This wine first matures for 8 months in a steel tank and then ages for around 10 months in an oak barrel before being blended. It is bottled 12 months before being released to market.
Our Cuvée Château Red, made of 40% Syrah and 60% Grenache, has a mid-intensity garnet and ruby colour with lovely, bright glints. A very fruit-forward nose featuring delightfully pronounced aromas of fruit (strawberry, raspberry and cherry) and spices. On the palate, it is fairly light, nicely elegant and not too chewy.
Serve at 14-16°C. Cannelloni with tomato sauce, duck à l’orange, leg of lamb grilled with herbes de Provence, rabbit stew, thrush pâté, or beef served rare with sautéed wild mushrooms and a tasty parsley and garlic garnish.
